After scanning books, etc., there are times when you want to combine those images into one PDF file.
There is no need to install any application, and the following procedure can be done using only Windows functions.
procedure
1. Put the images you want to output to PDF into one folder.
2. Rename image file names in page order
3. Arrange images in order of name in Explorer.
4. Select all images with Ctrl+A
5. Right-click on the first image and select "Print
6. Set up printing
- Set "Printer" to "Microsoft Print to PDF".
Uncheck "Fit Photo to Frame."
- If the check box here is checked, the entire page will be printed so that the image fills the entire page without margins, so the overflowing area of the image will overflow from the page and will not be printed.
- Determine the paper orientation in [Options]-[Printer Properties]-[Print Orientation].
7. Press "Print
Then it is nice and the images become one PDF in order of name.
Points to note
If I use the mouse to select images one at a time, they will not be printed in the intended order. So, I use Ctrl+A and let Windows do the image selection for me. Also, the first page will be from the right-clicked image.
- Sort by name, select all, then right-click on the first file to print, and it will be printed in the order it appears in Explorer.
- Regardless of the orientation of the image, the image will be rotated by itself so that the long edge of the image becomes the long edge of the page. In other words, you cannot print an image rotated 90 degrees as shown below.
impressions
Sometimes I want to refer to a book I read later, but I can't carry the whole book with me, and it's too much trouble to scan all the pages, so I scan only the important parts and convert them to PDF, which is convenient.
